I’m young and driven and I’m passionate about my work.
But then again, who isn’t, right? [Answer: lots of people… most people, really… but not many people reading this, of course].
So, beyond the usual fluff of how I admired the world of creativity since I started to walk, I'd like to tell you straight up what you might expect if you ever meet me.
One. I have no filter. I genuinely try to have one and god has the absence of it put me through awkward moments in my life, but today, I embrace it.
Tw. I have a questionable fashion sense and will rarely be wearing matching socks.
Three. I’m an opera singer. It wasn’t cool when I was young and every other girl at school was a ballerina… it still isn’t. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
Four. I should have been a veterinarian but my fight with the arachnid shamed me out of it... I foster dogs instead.

Either way, I am hyped to be part of an adventure at the fastest-growing social platform that actually puts a smile on people’s faces.

Debi thinks it's a little weird to speak in the third person, but since everybody else does it, here it goes.
She began her career in advertising in 2017 with an internship in the digital agency Wasabi, while working full time as a UX Writer in Mercado Libre and also finishing her major in advertising.
The internship turned out to be an stay-in-ship, and after seven months she ended up leading the creative department of Wasabi, generating digital ideas for some of the most importan brands of the country.
Evetualy, her love for ideas led her to VMLY&R Uruguay, where she currently works for global brands like Bimbo and Arcor, and some major local brands like the Ministry of Tourism and Antel.
Debi has been recognised in local and international festivals, such as Clio Awards, New York Festivals and El Ojo de Iberoamérica, but still she thinks that the greates recognition is the purr of her cat every morning.
Jason is a screenwriter and serial ad creator responsible for over 50 TV commercials, 5 short screenplays, 3 original TV pilots, about a thousand social media ads, one too many manifestos, more than a hundred awards, and plenty of snarky internet comments. His work has also been recognized by numerous awards shows and publications. including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Communication Arts, The Caples, New York Festivals, London International Awards, Dubai Lynx, Contagious Magazine, Campaign Magazine, The Immortal Awards, Cresta Awards, The Loeries, The Effies, and on his mom’s refrigerator. He is known for his work on brands such as Visa, Snickers, Twix, KFC, Pizza Hut, BMW, Amazon and more. But he is most (in)famous for asking Morgan Freeman to make cat noises for a pre-roll ad, coming up with a campaign to sell cardboard boxes, and playing an extra in a Star Trek film. One of those things is a lie.
Ideas and world improvements.

Here’s a thought: We’ve jumped the fence in a theme park called life. And we’re riding it all until they kick us out.
Wrote this a while ago and it still makes me smile every day. It’s about the courage and undistracted playfulness of an underdog. Everyone has a story to tell. The good, the bad and the ugly. I’ve been telling mine through advertising for the last 6 years and counting. Big brands, small brands, startups. You never know who’s going to reveal the next best story. That’s why I’m here: to hear them and make them heard. And I’d be fooling myself thinking it’s not personal.

Based at TBWA South Africa’s Durban office, Marcelle spends his days carefully navigating liquor advertising legislation while leading the creative charge on TOPS at SPAR, South Africa's largest alcohol retailer. Like most creatives, he loves nothing better than when an idea with insight marries a nice bit of craft. His work has seen recognition at most of the industry's major award shows, as well as some minor ones that no one has ever heard of. He's also received some very flattering industry and real-world write-ups about his recent forays into directing. SHOTS magazine called his first commercials for TOPS at SPAR ‘sobering’ and Twitter’s ‘NotANoob’ proclaimed his sophomore effort “Best f#cking ad in existence.” Which is obviously true.
Naomi is happiest when she’s making things. Second to that, she enjoys thinking about things she wants to make in the future. Occasionally, she can be found thinking about things she has already made.
Things she has already made include ads (or whatever they’re called these days) for brands like Wild Turkey, EA Games, Levi’s, and USGA. Many of these things have garnered attention from people who hand out shiny objects and fake internet points, such as the Clios, Ad Age, the Addys, and Graphis. As an Associate Creative Director at M/H, Naomi makes things for clients such as Staples, Audi, and Pokémon GO / Niantic.
In her free time, Naomi enjoys starting knitting projects (and sometimes finishing them), cooking meals her daughter won’t eat, and exploring the Hill Country surrounding Austin, Texas, where she lives.

Meet Aritra. You can call him Ari. Ari believes that an idea is a resilient and highly contagious virus that hacks culture. After a stint in 3 cities across India, currently he’s teaming up with the great creative minds at Ogilvy Singapore as an Associate Creative Director and infecting brands with award-winning work. Over 10 years in the industry and winning multiple shiny metals and colourful pencils have only managed to fuel his insatiable appetite for great work.
Along the way he has unsuccessfully pitched French Cinema masterpieces to Hollywood producers, designed a Couture Fashion Collection using AI, turned 16th-century still-life masterpiece paintings into delicious juices and removed milk from chocolate bars to help feed millions of malnourished children. Today, after being fascinated and inspired by the fast evolution in advertising, that includes integrated thinking, branded entertainment and non-conventional use of media, he would love to help brands and people talk to the world in an authentic way.
And if he’s not in the office, you’ll find him travelling to eat at the best restaurants in the world, binge-watching latest comic-book movies and TV series and cheering for Indian cricket team and Arsenal.

I began my career at TBWA Hunt Lascaris as a studio assistant. I like to believe that the late nights, spray glue fumes and working with some of the best advertising minds in the country gave me the perfect foundation for my career. Since then, I have worked at Grey Worldwide in Johannesburg, Lowe Bull in Johannesburg and Network BBDO until I decided to try the freelance life. I spent most of my childhood painting and drawing figures of all kinds. Despite my fantastic grades in math and science in high school, meeting big inspiring artists made me become a graphic designer to mix my artistic nature with business solutions. Not long after getting my BA in Graphic Design and working in a medium size advertising agency, I realized there was a big gap in communications between marketing agencies and their clients. It felt like they had difficulties understanding each other and needed a common language. That led me into my next education phase which was my MA in Marketing Communications. Understanding what I really wanted along with some great work experiences made me perfectly ready to start my professional career with some great brands such as LG Electronics, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini ... and more importantly I’ve had the honour of meeting exceptionally talented professionals along the way. At the end of the day marketing is all about PEOPLE!

Hello, I'm Martina from Croatia. I started as a Copywriter and 22 years and 5 agencies later, I'm a Creative Director in BBDO Zagreb. Beautiful city, by the way, you should definitely visit - before heading off to our magnificent coast with more than thousand islands. My background is in Marketing & Communications which I find useful for lively discussions with Accounts, Planners and sometimes even Clients. Never gets boring. I can hardly remember all the projects I've worked on, as there were so many. Some of them were awarded at local and regional festivals: a moment of pleasure after chasing deadlines. But I think my colleagues would agree that nothing beats the excitement of finally finding that idea you've been searching for days or even weeks.
I'm looking forward to be the part of NYF Jury this year and I'm excited to see fresh ideas from all over the world.

I’m a lawyer turned journalist turned strategist turned creative writer. That sounds like an odd journey but trust me, I had to remove my tattoo artist career just to look more legit and less eclectic.
But, from a not-so-odd stand point, I’ve always pursued passions that put people at the heart of what I do.
From wanting to uphold the law, to documenting the truth, to exploring solutions that benefit end users, to finding effective words that bring value into people’s lives.
Today, and almost a decade after I left my last advertising course in Paris, and years spent with Leo Burnett in Beirut racking Lynx and Cannes awards, I’m part of the biggest agency group in the world, leading the creative copy of the UAE’s largest telecom provider.
The joy of it is having a client that sees merit in ideas, imagination, and storytelling - making it a pleasure to go to the office every day.
All that being said, I do spend a crushing majority of my time wondering how life would have looked had I been bit by a radioactive spider, that Tony Stark was my mentor and that I had to fight purple aliens in space.

A commercial artist by qualification, I have constantly tried my hand at every single nuance of the advertising trade right from design to copy. Starting with communication design for pharma clients and then diversifying to ‘fashion’ and social media before coming back to pharma, I believe my career graph has come a full circle. Working as a Creative Director at a healthcare specialist agency I need to get involved right from the client briefing, the strategy and also need to understand medical aspects and accordingly, suggest communication solutions that find a role for the brand in the consumer’s life and not just hard sell it.
I follow a simple approach for developing effective communication – ask the right questions, decide on the core message, and then think of the best possible solution to address the communication challenge to drive a behavioural change. The key factor after this process, the one that is equally exciting for me, is choosing a media (can be an existing media or needs to be innovated) that will do complete justice to bring alive the message.
After more than twenty years of work experience in this industry I can probably say that it has turned me more into a quasi-doctor who is exploring new avenues of communication. At Medulla, I try to look at each brief from different perspectives till I get an appropriate creative leap and that’s the approach I try inculcate in my team too.

But he likes snacks better. If he ever leaves the advertising road, he would like to make a career as a snack reviewer.

I’ve worked mostly as a copywriter but have a strong eye for craft, and like to be involved across all aspects of execution. I’ve worked in every ad medium conceivable from TV, PR, events, print, digital outdoor, radio, online content, emails and even, dare I say it, web banners.
With experience above and below the line, at agencies such as WCRS, VCCP and BBDO and currently FP7/McCann, I’ve continued to sharpen my cerebral pencil working with clients both big and small. From F1, Golfing and Olympic champions, to winnning business with elite luxury brands like Corinthia and Rolls Royce, to the no nonsense ones like William Lawson and flyadeal. I’ve even dabbled in music video direction with platinum artist Charlie XCX, and over the years, learned a truck load about how to make a good idea great.

I'm not a pioneer in advertising, I'm the pioneer of the new wave in advertising. Advertising that works and exists solves business problems and builds brands while not leaving the people working on it dead on the battlefield. In 2018 I got selected to be part of the See It Be It initiative.
