Emma Eriksson

As Head of Creative at Forsman & Bodenfors in New York, Emma naturally brings a little Swedish ethos through her approach and style of leadership: unafraid to foster provocative ideas connected to culture in a collaborative egoless way. Big insight-driven ideas, emotional connection, and beautiful craft are what drive her to work in advertising for 20+ years. At Forsman & Bodenfors, Emma is one of the creative minds behind the successful Don’t Hold Back ethos for Häagen-Dazs and Therabody’s new creative platform For The Workout Called Life.

Emma started as an Art Director at TBWA Sthlm and TBWA Chiat Day in New York, working on global clients like Absolut Vodka and MTV, to name a few. Before landing at Forsman & Bodenfors in 2017, Eriksson co-founded the creative agency Le Bureau in Stockholm, where she spent 12 years heading up creative. Teaching classes in advertising and art direction at Miami Ad School, Berghs School of Communication and Beckmans College of Design, Emma Eriksson is a master of the creative process and has a proven track record of award-winning work that’s been recognized repeatedly at shows like Cannes Lions, The Golden Egg, and The Swedish Award for Design. Jeff is a Social Strategy Director at Mekanism, where he joined in 2015 as the first Experience Designer there. There he works alongside strategists and creatives and works to bring as many innovative social firsts to clients like Adobe, AT&T, Cricket Wireless, Q-tips, and Lenovo. Jeff uses creative prototyping and social listening to inform the creation of experiences that bring people together for shared moments of wonder. Outside of client work, he has created interactive art installations that have connected museum goers together via LED lights and touch.

Emily Sander

Emily Sander is an award-winning creative director with over 20 years of experience in advertising.

Currently an Executive Creative Director with VML’s New York office, she oversees work for Leidos, BP, Coca-Cola projects, and select new business projects. And she was proud to create the “NYC Says Gay” for the NYC Mayor’s Office, supporting the city’s dedication to inclusion and equality.

Across her career, Emily has embraced the expansive world of storytelling at agencies such as MullenLowe, Translation, 360i and Momentum, working across all disciplines on brands ranging from vitaminwater, State Farm, Hyatt Hotels, McDonalds, HBO, American Express and Macy’s.  In addition, she spent a valuable portion of her years in education as the chair of the Department of Advertising and Branding at the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). While there she reframed the course curriculum and guided the department to its highest enrollment it had seen in years.

Emily has spent years dedicated to advocating and advancing opportunities for diverse talent in the advertising industry. Serving as member of the board for the 4A’s Foundation since 2018, she has dedicated much of her time to education and mentorship for diverse students looking to advance their professional opportunities and skillsets. As part, she received the 2023 Society of Excellence Pantheon Award. 

When Emily is not working, she is hiding away upstate. But when found, she is likely at her favorite Brooklyn coffee spot reading some obscenely large non-fiction book.

Sam Shepherd

Prior to Uncommon, Sam worked at Leo Burnett Chicago where he was D&AD’s most awarded Executive Creative Director in the world. In just under 2 years, Sam led Leo Burnett to Agency of the Year honors, in addition to landing coveted global account wins with Powerade and Maker’s Mark. A two-time D&AD Black Pencil recipient, Emmy-nominee, and 12-time Grand Prix winner, Sam’s work for Change the Ref, “The Lost Class”, is one of the most awarded ideas of all-time. Throughout his career, Sam has partnered with some of the world’s most innovative companies to build their brands and launch industry first ideas. Fluidly moving across every medium, Sam has pioneered a new creative approach that blends strategy, technology, and data to fearlessly solve his client's toughest challenges.
 

In 2017, Sam and his partner Frank Cartagena were tasked with building 360i New York into one of the US’s most innovative and integrated agencies. Named as one of Campaign’s Agencies of the Year, Sam was responsible for the first Cannes Grand Prix win in 360i’s history for his work on HBO’s Westworld “The Maze” activation; creating a first-of-its kind immersive gaming experience with Amazon Alexa.
 

In 2014, Sam joined Deutsch New York, where in just under 3 years he lead the agency to their first ever Cannes Titanium Lion for his work on ‘Krylon’s Pinterest Yardsale’, a project that paved new ground for brand partnerships and emerging platform functionality with the launch of Pinterest’s buyable pin feature. During this time, Sam was named a two-time Business Insider 30-under-30 winner.
 

Sam started his career at DDB New York, where his work for the charity WaterIsLife helped win the agencies’ first Cannes Lions in over 10 years and his work on ‘The Drinkable Book’ was named to TIME Magazine’s best inventions of the year.
 

In addition to his love for advertising, Sam shares a passion for helping worthy causes. His work for Change the Ref and Water Is Life has helped propel the issues of gun violence and the world water crisis into the global spotlight, garnering awareness and life-saving donations for two of the most important issues facing the world today.
 

Prior to starting his career in advertising, Sam attended the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in communications and design. As a two-sport division 1 athlete, Sam was an All-Ivy League recipient in Track and field.

Juan Woodbury

Juan Woodbury, an Entertainment industry veteran and Grammy Award Winner, serves as North America Creative and Entertainment Lead for The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) at Ogilvy and WPP Open X. Woodbury is responsible for driving creative work that influences culture and continuously delivers on TCCC’s market-leading position. Working with the entire WPP Open X team, he helps shape and drive the creative vision for Ogilvy’s work on TCCC’s portfolio of brands in North America.

Previously, Juan served as EVP, Global Head of Branded Content & Entertainment at Dentsu Creative, charged with the execution of innovative creative concepts to elevate culture. Prior to joining Dentsu Creative, Woodbury was EVP, Director of Branded Content & Entertainment at FCB Chicago, where he was instrumental in launching the Branded Content and Entertainment practice and helped lead award-winning campaigns such as City of Chicago's "Boards of Change" and Woojer's "Sick Beats," which earned him three Grand Prix, one Titanium and seven Gold Lions at Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.
