Malu, that's how she likes to be called because her real name is too long and too latin, is a former journalist turned into a creative nomad. Tired of annoying people with questions, she decided to annoy people with answers to questions they haven't asked. She's started her career in advertising as a freelancer at AlmapBBDO. She decided then that would be better to be a good copywriter than an ex-journalist and moved to Germany to learn more about the business. But then she learned that moving was fun and moved away to France and then to New York (not USA cause NY is not USA) and then back to Germany where she is based for the past 5 winters.
Along the way Malu sold some very small cars, home appliances, fizzy drinks, vodka, sneakers, regular people's cars, search engines, tickets to ballet, ice cream, dog food and also luxury cars. Currently, she is at Anomaly Berlin selling some trendy suitcases and faster luxurious cars. She likes fancy, but what she really fancies is a good story.
Her awards include her brother, who is a doctor that lives in Sao Paulo and thinks that Malu moved to Germany because of Berghain, finding out that one of his favourite ads was done by his sister. She shed a tiny tear when he wrote her a message saying: "WTF, why didn't you explain to me what you were working with?". That was gold to her.
Malu normally judges humans by their feet, but she made an effort to judge them by their work this time. It was an honour.

I’ve wanted to be in advertising since I was 12. And after winning a fight with my dad – who insisted I become a brain surgeon instead – my dream came true. I started in this industry as an art director but after 2 years, I magically transformed into a writer. Over the past 11 years, I’ve worked on an extensive range of brands, winning a few awards along the way. I am head over heels in love with my job, and nothing makes me happier than coming up with ideas and bringing those ideas to life. I see myself as not just a creative, but an inventor and I truly believe that creativity has the power to change the world. And I refuse to get Netflix because I really really like to watch ads.

My journey as a filmmaker began when I saw the film "awakenings“ at the age of 18 years. The experience to create something so deeply touching made me believe in the medium film.
After having studied marketing and communication and miscellaneous stays abroad I started my professional career at BBDO, Germany, where I acted as tv producer for 5 years. In 1998 I joined the commercial film production tempomedia where I currently act as managing director and executive producer as well as partner heading the three offices in hamburg, berlin and frankfurt.
Receving numerous awards and accolades for my work including several clio, new york festival, LIA, eurobest, EPICA, adc awards and several sought-after Cannes Lions, still my first lion for a "remake" of "the graduate" with dustin hoffmann where he was now starring as the grown up dad saving his daughter, is the one I will never forget. Another non forgettable one was received for Edeka "heimkommen" … the most shared christmas advert worldwide.
I m still trying to develop tempomedia to something never seen before … but for now it is at least one of the most successful and creative commercial film productions in Germany.
I live in Hamburg, Germany, together with my husband and our 3 boys and the hungarian viszla „humphrey“.
