Kevin Lee is one of the 300+ powerhouse Grand Jury members responsible for selecting the World’s Best Advertising. These award-winning international creatives evaluate NYF’s entries from over 100 countries worldwide and determine which creative campaign will move on to the medal round. Not an easy task. It takes experience, brilliant creative chops, and dedication to their craft. This esteemed peer-nominated panel provides a 360-degree creative view of the advertising world today.

2018 Grand Jury member Kevin Lee brings over 26 years of experience to the judging panel.  Kevin is Co-Founder/Creative for Logicillogic, China and set up his own agency around the idea of connecting things that are not supposed to be together to create something unexpected. The agency created 3 entirely new agency-owned women brands in the most uncreative categories of underwear, skincare and food supplements.

Prior to founding Logicillogic, Kevin co-founded Leagas Delaney Shangha in 2011. His Toblerone campaign won The One Show Silver Pencil for brand transformation. Previously, Kevin was ECD at Ogilvy Shanghai and Guangzhou and while under his leadership, Campaign Brief ranked Ogilvy Shanghai, China’s #1 agency for two years. The agency was also the most awarded agency in China at AdFest 2010. Kevin’s “Run Free” campaign for Nike was the second most awarded print campaign in the world according to The Gunn Report. 

On Judging:

New York Festivals: What are your personal criteria for choosing award-winning work? 

Kevin Lee: Simple idea that inspire and produce change. 

New York Festivals: When judging, what trends do you hope will fade away, and what “old school” trends do you hope will make a resurgence?

Kevin Lee: The complexity of making a case video should go away and the purity of a simple idea needs to return.

On Advertising: 

New York Festivals: What was the hardest ad you ever had to create and why?

Kevin Lee: The Toblerone sculpture project. I worked with 30 art directors and 20 students and we had to sacrifice our long holiday and 5 weekends to meet the deadline.

On Life:

New York Festivals: What’s the one smartphone app you couldn’t live without?

Kevin Lee: The iPhone’s build in camera app.

New York Festivals: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Kevin Lee: I would like to move around to live 6 months in each different country.

New York Festivals: What is your mantra for life? 

Kevin Lee: Live like a child.
