Karl Wolfgang Epple

Karl Wolfgang Epple, born 86, had two wishes as a child: directing films and a Ferrari Testarossa. To state it straight away: both wishes didn’t really come true (yet!). He is now executive creative director for WPP's thjnk group across 10 agencies in Germany, Switzerland and the USA. 

Karl worked for Audi, IKEA, McDonald’s, Der Spiegel, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bahn, Rewe and Veltins. He is a member to the German ADC and teaches at several schools such as Miami Ad School, Institute of Design and Hamburg School of Ideas. His work has been recognized with numerous industry awards including Cannes Lions, New York Festivals, LIA, Clio, ADC, Eurobest and The One Show. 

Karl claims to have tried every vending machine soft drink in Japan. He also owns a kokedama plant that has to be submerged in water every second day.
