In May 2017, João joined Y&R as North America Executive Creative Director. He originally wanted to be an architect, but instead of building houses, ended up help building brands.

Since he started in this industry, João worked in 4 different countries, Portugal, Spain, Brazil and United States. During this long journey, he has been honored to work for global and local brands such as Altice, JP Morgan Chase, Volvo, Canon, Audi, Special Olympics, Vodafone, Unicef, Unilever, Philips, Bosch, P&G, States United United To Prevent Gun Violence, among others.

João deeply believes that our role in this industry goes beyond selling products, like in the old days. He feels that we have the power of changing people’s lives for better. He’s really happy and fortunate to work with clients who share the same believe.

João has won 32 Cannes Lions including 1 Grand Prix, D&AD, One Show, Clio and London International Festival awards, among others. He was part of Ogilvy Brazil team that won agency of the year in 2013, and Grey New York team that, for 2 years in a row came #2 most awarded agency in the world (2015 and 2016).

He has also been ranked among the Top 10 Art Directors in the world according to The Cannes Report 2013.
