Matthias Spaetgens is Chief Creative Officer of the Scholz & Friends Group.
From 2007 to 2009 he attended the international School of Creative Leadership graduating as Executive MBA. He is a member of the Art Directors Club of Germany and Switzerland, the Creativ Club Austria as well as the British D&AD.
Matthias Spaetgens numbers among the most awarded German creatives. His work, amongst others for A. Lange & Söhne, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, jobsintown.de, Mercedes-Benz, Montblanc and Weru, was awarded at various award shows, amongst others with more than twenty Lions in Cannes and six times the Grand Prix at international creative festivals.
Matthias studied graphic design in Munich and in 1997 he started his career at Scholz & Friends with stations in Hamburg, Zurich (CH) and Berlin. Since 2007 he is Managing Director Creation and responsible for the creative performance of the Berlin office.
As a professor he heads the department of Communication Design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna/Austria.
