A seasoned international advertising executive, Diego leads Conill’s creative teams and all work across its client portfolio.
During his career, Diego has helped many of the world’s top brands achieve success in the marketplace, including Audi, Chrysler, Dodge, McDonald’s, State Farm, Subway, T-Mobile, Toyota and Verizon Wireless, among others. He has received numerous industry accolades along the way, from Cannes Lions and Clio Awards, to the One Show and the Art Directors Club.
Diego’s passion for results-driven creativity has earned high praise from clients and colleagues alike, resulting in expanded project scopes and an inspired team that has notched over 30 awards since his arrival to Conill.
Prior to joining Conill, Diego was VP / Creative Director of Latinworks in Austin, TX, where he extended the agency’s telecommunications and retail businesses.
As Executive Creative Director of Alma DDB in Miami, he helped the agency grow its business by 25% and win its first two Cannes Lions in its 20-year history, ultimately leading to Advertising Age A-List and Multicultural Agency of the Year honours in 2013.
Diego has also held senior creative leadership positions at Global Hue, Wieden & Kennedy and various agencies in Europe including Kaspen (Czech Republic) and Tandem DDB (Spain).
Diego’s inclusive and developmental leadership style harks back to his days as Director of the San Francisco campus of the prestigious Miami Ad School, where he developed the program and taught several classes, all while providing freelance creative services for a number of bay area agencies.
In his downtime, Diego enjoys sports (soccer, martial arts, and yoga), travelling, meditating and playing the drums.
