As soon as he graduated from college, Mario started working at MullenLowe/SSP3, where he worked for eight years for Unilever, SABMiller, Ministerio de Defensa Nacional, BMW, Helm Bank, Alpina, Childfund, Colsubsidio, Arturo Calle, among others.
According to The Game Changers book, from the Cannes Festival, Rivers of Light, one of the campaigns he worked for Colombia’s Defense Ministry, is a game changer in Advertising History. Likewise, the campaign You’re my Son was recognized by The Directory of Big Won Rankings as well as the Gunn Report as one of the most awarded campaigns worldwide in 2014.
In the same way, Come with a story and leave with another, made for the Colsubsidio library, is one of the most awarded campaigns illustrated, according to Gun Report.
In 2015 Mario Lagos decided to leave MullenLowe/SSP3 and started to work in Sancho BBDO for Exito Group and Postobon. In 2016, he won the first Cannes Lions award for Postobon and in 2017 placed the brand as advertiser of the year in Effie Latam.
Lagos has received more than 170 awards, among them 13 Cannes Lions awards, including the first Titanium for Latin America, also the only black pencil delivered im Latin America and 3 yellow pencils in D&AD awards.
